Making sense of Medicare starts here. With different parts covering hospital care, medical services, and prescriptions, understanding your options helps you choose the coverage that fits your needs.
Part A- Hospital Insurance
Helps cover:
Inpatient care in hospitals
Skilled nursing facility care
Hospice care
Home health care
Part B- Medical Insurance
Services from doctors and other health care providers
Outpatient care
Durable medical equipment
Preventative services (like screenings, shots or vaccines and yearly “Wellness” visits)
Part C- Medicare Advantage
Must use Network providers (except for emergencies)
Many plans provide extra benefits that Medicare Parts A and B don't cover, such as dental, vision, hearing, and, in some cases, fitness membership.
Many plans offer $0 or low monthly premiums.
Most plans also include the Part D prescription drug coverage built into the plan.
Part D- Drug Coverage
Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs (including many recommended shots or vaccines)
Plans that offer Medicare drug coverage (Part D) are run by private insurance companies that follow rules set by Medicare.
